Man, I've been slackin on this thing. But I do have some new work to show the world! I've been busy these past months with settling into a new job, looking at buying a house, the holidays, and I've had 4 shows in the last 2 months. The shows went well, I've sold a few pieces, so that's good stuff.

Small And Cheap Show

This was a fun show the Ben and Sarah put together at their studio/gallery space to try to make some money before the holidays and for people to do some early holiday gift shopping. We had a HUGE turnout! There was so much great art, so much so that it not only filled the studio space, but also spilled out into the halls! Thanks to Ben and Sarah for doing such a great job!

Three weeks later, Beep Beep Gallery had their small pieces show. I pretty much moved everything from the Small and Cheap show over to this show. :) Sneaky, I know, but, eh.

(Oh! And if you look at the flyer, look at the top left corner of the little box o' art...there's one of my tattoo pieces! :) )

The week after the Beep Beep show, MINT Gallery had it's 3rd annual postcard pin-up show. This is my 2nd year participating, and it's always fun working with the people at MINT. They are all so nice and put together some great shows.

I've had a lot of fun trying this new style of girls. They are quick to crank out and I've also really enjoyed playing with watercolors lately. I haven't used watercolors too much since college.

Two weeks ago was the Animal Overdoes show at MINT. Ben Goldman put together this show and did an amazing job! Again, there was a lot of great art here and lots of wonderful people.

I really love how these turned out. I was apprehensive at first when Ben told me about this show and the animal subject matter, because I can't draw animals. :P But I think they turned out well, and still had the "animal" feel. I have a few pictures of them from the show, but I need to upload them from my camera. I framed all these in silver frames and they really add to the pieces.

Well, now that I'm all caught up, there it is. :) I hope you enjoy it! And I'll update again when I know more about my upcoming show in April.

Modern Muses Show

The show went very well! We had lots of people stop by and I sold 5 pieces! Not Bad! :) I was too busy talking to people to get a lot of pictures of all the action, but I did get pictures of the Muses. I was able to get 6 of the 9 pieces ready for the show, so I had in total of 17 pieces in all. Here are the photos of the muses...Enjoy!

Modern Muses

I've been working hard the past few weeks for my upcoming solo show, Modern Muses. I hope to have about 20 pieces in the show, including 9 NEW pieces: The Modern Muses. I will also have some postcards for sale that I had printed up of the postcards I did for the Postcard show at MINT. (Sounds a bit redundant) Ben and Sarah from Atelier 43 of Art Space International will be there to host as well as myself. I'm really excited about the show, and I hope that I can get everything done in time. I'm also a bit nervous to see the outcome of the show. :)

Rock and Roll Show

Hey kiddies! The Rock and Roll show was this weekend and it was a blast! Thanks to everyone who came out and all the great new people I met. Christina did a fantastic job putting together this show, so much props to her! And everyone at MINT was great, as always. :)

Sooo...here's the final piece:

Goddess of Rock

I did this with oil on wood panel, and I just had to throw some gold leaf on there. You can't really tell from the photo, but I used sparkly gold paint as well around the little stars. :) It's a tribute to two of my fav artists, Klimt and Mucha.

MINT gallery is having a show December 8th, which I am going to be a part of! It's a postcard pin-up show, and will feature a whole slew of artists. Artwork prices range from up to $50 per postcard, to $125 for a set of postcards.

So the Concrete Jungle show went well! I had a blast hanging out with the other artists and and seeing all the great art. And thanks to all my friends and family that came out! Even my boss come out the show his support, Thomas Arvid.

Saturday night, 8 to midnight!

I got all of my larger pieces done for the show and took them over to the gallery on Monday. They are all framed up and fabulous! I'm very excited about the show and hope that it's going to bring more opportunities for me. And I got to see some of the other art that is going to be in the show, and all I can say is...DAMN! This is going to be one kick ass show! :)

The smaller pieces won't be in the show. They never really fit into the theme of the show, so I don't feel so bad about it. I will get them all finished up and beautiful soon. I'm probably just going to put them in the salon that my other paintings are in right now...I can't remember the name of the salon, but will post it on here when I figure that out. :P

I don't want to spoil the surprise by posting pictures up of the pieces yet, but I promise to do that after the opening, and hopefully with pictures from the show. I hope to see you all there! :)

Hey everybody! I've been working hard and thought I'd share my progress with the world! Yay! :) I had a photo shoot with Sarah on Saturday and got some great shots for my next piece. I started that piece today, and I'm in the middle of another one (of my friend Jamie). I'm glad I started the new piece while I'm in the middle of the other one so I can go back and forth while I wait for parts to dry. (Gotta love oil paint!)

So I guess I should give the premise of the art show that I'm in. It's call Concrete Jungle and it's at Beep Beep Gallery in Atlanta. Here's the pre-flyer:

This is the "rough draft" flyer the Mike Germon made for the show. But basically, as you can see, it's about "Urban vs. Organic". For me, I'm a lover of tattoos and tattoo art. My idea here is the explore how we get tattoos, which is a very urban at form, and use imagery of organic or natural subject matter to add to our own organic being, perhaps in a way to reconnect with the environment that some of us lose sight of in the every day grind.

So here are the latest pieces in progress:

Just started today...much more work needed, obviously. :)

On the second layer of this piece. Almost done, thought! Just need to finish the tattoo and the hair, and maybe a few more tweaks here and there.

Back in Action

So anyone who knows me knows that I've been on a "hiatus" from painting for about the last year. (aka I've been lazy and in need of a confidence boost). Well, with the prospect of an upcoming show, I have now got the motivation and confidence boost I needed.

The show I'm in is in a month. I've known about it since, uhhh...December of last year. So yeah. I've been working on a couple of pieces over the past few months, but of course, as the deadline looms closer, I'm finally starting to get my ass into full gear. (Did I mention I'm a notorious procrastinator?) I have two pieces done already, half way through the third, and I have the photo shoots done or lined up for the last few pieces.

Here are some pictures of the pieces I have done already. I'm also working on a few smaller pieces here and there that I might put in the show...those are at the bottom.

In addition to painting like a crazy woman, I'm working on finally getting a website up. I've finished most of the main page and I'm working on the design for the rest of the site. I'll post the info for that when I finally go live. :)

After this show in July, I might be in another show in August. I'm still waiting on all the details on that. More to come when I know what's going on! :)
